Quilted Effect Orchard Celebration Fruitcake
An elegant fondant iced Rich Orchard Fruitcake with a 'quilted' effect decorated with edible pearls. Perfect for a christening, anniversary or informal wedding cake as well as any birthday. (Each cake is iced by hand and may vary slightly from the picture).
The 7" cake will cut into at least 20 good size slices or 30+ 'fingers'.
This cake weighs at least 1.5kg (over 3lb), it is approximately 17cm (7 inches) in diameter and 4cm (1.5 inches) in height and presented on a thick cake drum. It will cut easily into about 20 large slices or over 30 small 'fingers'.
It contains our signature rich Orchard Fruitcake incorporating home-grown apples, pears, cherries and nuts as well as all the traditional dried fruit, all soaked for several days in brandy and sherry before being baked in the Aga in my 5* hygiene rated home kitchen in West Norfolk.
Please note - prices reflect that I am a home cook not a professional cake decorator - I do not promise a perfect finish to the fondant, however I guarantee that the cake will taste delicious !
THIS CAKE WILL BE ICED TO ORDER - PLEASE ALLOW AT LEAST 10 WORKING DAYS FOR ICING, SETTING & DELIVERY.
The rich fruit cakes will keep for several months provided they are kept dry and wrapped. The cakes will be sealed in cellophane and securely wrapped in several layers of bubble wrap inside a new cardboard box and will be sent by either Royal Mail 2nd class or a 48 hour courier.
Allergen information - all my celebration cakes contain alcohol, wheat, nuts, eggs and milk products and the dried fruit may contain traces of sulphites. Please enquire before buying if you have any food allergies or need any further information.
IMPORTANT DELIVERY INFORMATION - unfortunately, no delivery company will accept responsibility for damage to food items, therefore the cakes are sent at buyer's risk. They are solid and well wrapped and almost always arrive without any problem. In the unlikely event of damage to the icing please let me know (with a picture if possible) and I will tell you how best to repair it.

Delivery Information
Cakes will be sealed inside a cellophane bag and wrapped in suitable protective packaging (bubble wrap or similar) inside a cardboard outer box. Most are sent by Royal Mail 2nd class as a small package but some deliveries may be sent by a 48 hour courier.
The fruitcakes are solid and usually arrive in perfect condition but please let me know straight away (with a picture if possible) if there is any damage.
IMPORTANT NOTE: no delivery company will accept responsibilty for damage to any food items as they are always classed as 'perishable' (even with many months of self life !) so excluded by their tems and conditions. Therefore I regret that cakes are sent at the buyer's own risk. Should any damage to icing occur I would be more than happy to advise how to rectify this so please do get in touch.
Plain family size cakes are usually kept in stock to be dispatched within a couple of days, or within 6 days if special order icing is requested. Party size and shaped cakes are baked to order. In ALL cases I recommend ordering at least 14 days before your special event to allow time for baking, marzipanning, icing, setting and delivery. If you need a cake quickly please contact me first and I will advise what can be supplied from stock and arrange special delivery (at cost).
The fruit cakes will have a shelf life of between 6-12 months and can be kept in their origianl sealed packaging or in a cake tin or box but it MUST be airtight. Once cut the cake can be kept in an airtight box or tin for several weeks or wrapped tightly in cling film to keep it moist.
Regretfully due to the nature of the goods, returns cannot be accepted.
You are very welcome to collect from Covenham House Orchard at Southery (by arrangement) or from Delaynies at Littleport (open 7 days a week) to avoid the £4.50 postage cost.
